Target Racing made its GT2 European Series debut lining up for its third round of 2021 at the Misano circuit. The team, led by Roberto Venieri, lined up with a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO racecar in GT2 configuration for the new driver combination of Italian Mauro Casadei and experienced Swiss gentleman racer Cedric Leimer. After gaining more chemistry with the car during Thursday's test and Friday morning's free practice, the two drivers approached qualifying. Casadei took third overall for race 1, while Leimer secured the AM class pole position for the second race. The opening race saw the Target Racing duo retire due to a technical issue. However, they took their revenge in Saturday's race 2. Casadei and Leimer secured a brilliant win in the AM class and fourth place overall at the end of the 50-minute, sunset-to-night race. After this positive debut, Target Racing hopes to be back for more rounds of the GT2 European Series.
