It was a positive comeback to the Italian Gran Turismo Championship for Target at Imola. Lining up in the GT Cup category with two Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo cars, Roberto Venieri and his team took the AM class podium in both races thanks to Huilin Han. The Chinese driver achieved an excellent second place in the first race and P1 in the second race. However, he later received a penalty that dropped him to the third step of the podium.
The weekend would have been perfect for Target if the second car, driven by Largim Ali and Raffaele Giannoni in the Pro-Am class, had not been hit at the start of race 1 by another competitor. It was quite a violent crash, which severely damaged the Target-prepared car, so much so that Ali-Giannoni could not enter the second race, where they would have started from P2 on the front row. The car that caused the incident at the start of race 1 was black-flagged.
The next event for Target will be the third round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo scheduled from Wednesday, June 12 to Saturday, June 15 at the legendary Le Mans circuit.
