Target Racing will start the 2022 season with its home event at Imola. On the Italian track, built on the banks of the Santerno river, the team will line up for the two European Championships that will see the team committed this year. The team, led by Roberto Venieri, will be back to full force in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. After taking part in selected events of the inaugural season, it will also compete in the GT2 European Series.

The Lamborghini-branded single-make series will see Target Racing will line up three new Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo2 race cars. The #54 car, registered in the Pro class, will feature two promising drivers of the international GT scene, Marzio Moretti and Milan Teekens. After a brilliant career in international karting and a stint in single-seaters, Italian Moretti impressed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, where he won a race last season. On the other hand, 19-year-old Dutchman Teekens, who is the 2020 Mazda-MX5-Cup Champion, debuted in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe last season, collecting five podiums in the Pro class.

The #9 Lamborghini will be driven by Milan Petelet, a French driver with extensive experience in open-wheel racing, and Dmitry Gvazava, returning to Target after a successful 2021 season. The pairing will be entered in the Pro-Am class. A third car will be lined up under the Automobile Tricolore banner with Italian gentleman driver Raffaele Giannoni. He will be running as a single driver in the competitive Am class.

Target will also rejoin the GT2 European Series, with a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo. Pierluigi Alessandri and Dilantha Malagamuwa, who already drove for the team in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, will share the car.
