Team Raton Racing by Target returned to the podium 12 months later at the 24H Spa-Francorchamps, one of the most prestigious event of the GT panorama. After taking last year the second place in the Am category, the squad led by Roberto Tanca celebrated the third position in the 71st edition of the Belgian race that helded last week. That was a great result, expecially considering the race was red-flagged for six consecutive hours - from 5.30 to 11.30 - due to the heavy rain, despite the temperature reached 41°C on Thursday.
The 2019 edition of 24H of Spa was very unpredictable. Eventually the Italian drivers Stefano Costantini and Alberto Di Folco, Spaniard Antonio Forné and Swissman Christoph Lenz ended on the podium with their OPPO backed #29 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo. The Raton Racing by Target crew, endured a difficulty qualifying setting the seventh average time, to complete a great recovery in the race, without making mistakes. With a grid record of 72 cars, Costantini, Di Folco, Forné and Lenz finished on 36th.
"The 24 Hours of Spa is a great test for all. We showed to be a "top team", making a perfect strategy. Our drivers deserved the podium", Roberto Tanca commented, "I also want to thank all the people of the team and dedicate this result to one of our mechanics who was forced to remain at home".
The next race for Raton Racing by Target will be on 7/8 September at Silverstone, that hosts the fifth of seven International GT Open rounds.
