DR Formula lived an incredibile weekend for the fifth round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship at Vallelunga. Raul Guzman and Artem Petrov took advantage from a perfect team strategy, taking an historic 1-2 on a wet track. In contrast to the most part of their rivals, the Mexican and his Russian team-mate opted for rain tyres instead of the slicks. This choice proved to be the right one, when the rain began to fall again during the race. Fabienne Wohlwend, 29th on the grid, showed as well a great recovery till the 17th place under the chequered flag.
In race 2 Guzman started from the fourth row after having set the seventh fastest time in Q2, and then he gained a position ending in sixth. Petrov made a good drive from 13th spot to seventh. Lichtenstein's Wohlwend, which improved her performance from Q1 to Q2, concluded the second race in 24th place.
Guzman had a lot of bad luck in race 3, stalling at the getaway and being hitten so by Vieira from the back. The Mexican had to retire almost immediately. On his side, Petrov fought in the leading group to deliver a positive fifth position, while Wohlwend was 19th.
The battle for the title remains wide open. Guzman is third in the standings with 159 points, just behind series leader Siebert at 190 and Schumacher at 180.
